What is hook rate in OBS?
Hook rate is the percentage of viewers who land on your stream and stay long enough to be counted as a real viewer — usually past the first 30 seconds. It's a discoverability metric, not an OBS setting: a high hook rate means your stream title, category, thumbnail and on-screen overlay convinced people to stick around.
OBS itself doesn't show hook rate, but a clean on-screen HUD with game name, score and what's happening is one of the fastest ways to lift it. Viewers who land mid-match and instantly understand what they're watching are far more likely to stay than ones staring at a raw game feed with no context.
